PRINT AUSTIN

The Desert Triangle is part of PRINT AUSTIN, but our opening is not until January Friday, January 26th, 2018, at MEXIC-ARTE.

Meanwhile, PRINT AUSTIN has been going on since January 15th:

which opened the night before)

I also regret missing the Rebolloso Print Studio pop-up exhibition the night before. However, Logan Hill of that pop-up show did show up for the Print Austin Contemporary Print opening:

Logan Hill,

Francisco Delgado had a small litho print for sale at Flatbed Press, though it is hard to see in the photo below:

Practically next door to Flatbed Press, there was an opening at Slugfest Printmaking, run by Margaret Simpson and Tom Druecker:

I love the Slugfest printmaking studio

Tom Huck spotting at Slugfest!

I also ran into Ryan O'Malley (currently teaching printmaking at Texas A&M, Corpus Christi) at the Slugfest opening!

On Sunday, January 21, I really enjoyed the print talk by the women of the ROUX exhibition -- Ann “Sole Sister” Johnson, Rabéa Ballin, Delita Martin (Lovie Olivia was unable to attend), at the Prizer Arts and Letters studio in East Austin:

JANUARY 23rd

Dr Paul Laidler, of the University of West England, gave a lecture in the Art Building at the University of Texas.  He spoke about practice, result oriented print making research (vs question oriented).  He is a Senior Research Fellow of the Centre for Fine Print Research.

His website is Just Press P, and on January 26th, there is an opening at the University of Texas, of the print show he curated with the same name -- Just Press Print.

of his experimental reproduction art process,

"Latino Artists in Printmaking" -- we missed the opening at La Peña on January 13th, but we really enjoyed the exhibition!
