Preparing for the Opening at Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin

We had a great ramp up for our big opening at Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin -- 6 - 9 PM -- on Friday, January 26th.

The anticipation is killing us!
on the day following the opening)

STREET BANNER

Mexic-Arte posted a big banner of the exhibitions in front of their museum, on Congress Avenue (at 5th Street), the main street of Austin, Texas! Zeke Peñas print from the Desert Triangle Print Carpeta is featured.  The augmented reality enhancements work on the banner, as they do on Zeke's print inside.

MEXIC-ARTE
RECEIVING PRINTS FROM
TALLER 75 GRADOS

While we donated a set of Desert Triangle Print Carpeta works to Mexic-Arte, we also donated a few other prints made by Taller 75 Grados, and then they bought even more prints directly from Arturo Negrete of Taller 75 Grados of Mexico City.

PRINT AUSTIN

The Desert Triangle is part of PRINT AUSTIN, but our opening is not until January Friday, January 26th, 2018, at MEXIC-ARTE.

Meanwhile, PRINT AUSTIN has been going on since January 15th:

I also regret missing the Rebolloso Print Studio pop-up exhibition the night before. However, Logan Hill of that pop-up show did show up for the Print Austin Contemporary Print opening:

Logan Hill,

Francisco Delgado had a small litho print for sale at Flatbed Press, though it is hard to see in the photo below:

On Sunday, January 21, I really enjoyed the print talk by the women of the ROUX exhibition -- Ann “Sole Sister” Johnson, Rabéa Ballin, Delita Martin (Lovie Olivia was unable to attend), at the Prizer Arts and Letters studio in East Austin:

JANUARY 23rd

Dr Paul Laidler, of the University of West England, gave a lecture in the Art Building at the University of Texas.  He spoke about practice, result oriented print making research (vs question oriented).  He is a Senior Research Fellow of the Centre for Fine Print Research.

His website is Just Press P, and on January 26th, there is an opening at the University of Texas, of the print show he curated with the same name -- Just Press Print.

of his experimental reproduction art process,
